The World Situation
You must have an understanding of the present world situation regarding the advancement of the Kingdom of God into all groups of people in the world in order to make informed decisions.
First — Definitions We Need to Understand:
People Group Definition:
The first definition we need to understand is “What is a People Group?”
A People Group (PG) is a group of people who have the same language, heritage, and culture. The best way to think about a People Group is that those in the People Group refer to themselves as “We”. While those outside the People Group are referred to as “They”.
It is the largest group of people through which the Gospel can spread without significant barriers due to acceptance or understanding.
People Groups are not limited by geography or country borders. An individual country can have many different People Groups within their borders.
For Example: India has the most People Groups within their borders at approximately 2,700. The United States has approximately 489 People Groups.
Joshua Project estimates there are approximately 17,500 different People Groups in the world today. (joshuaproject.net)
Unreached People Group Definition:
The second definition we need to understand is “What is an Unreached People Group?” An Unreached People Group (UPG) is essentially a Group of People who have little to no possibility of hearing the Gospel before they die.
Of the 17,500 total People Groups in the world Joshua Project estimates 7,400 are Unreached People Groups.
That’s 41% of all the People Groups in the World have little to no possibility of hearing the Gospel before they die.
The Reached World with Gospel Availability:
It has been 2.000 years since Jesus told the Church to Go and Make Disciples of All Nations while serving as His Ambassadors in order to Make God’s Name Great and His Salvation known to all groups of people in the world … So that, God will be Glorified!
This is our and the Church’s primary purpose/reason for still being on this earth as God’s Ambassadors.
So, after 2,000 years, how have we (The Church) done at reaching every Tribe, Language, People, and Nation?
There is a website (Joshua Project) that tracks the current status of people that have been reached with the Gospel and those who have not. If you go to joshuaproject.net you will find a lot of interesting information. You may search the database by country, people group, or region of the world. If you are like me and enjoy numbers then you can spend several hours at a time researching.
WARNING:
This is going to involve a large amount of numbers. First we will go through the numbers in some detail. Then give a quick Recap of the Key Numbers at the end.
Status of Reaching Every Group of People on Earth:
Number Total % of Total
Category Of Groups Population Population
Total PG in World 17,500 = 7.7 Billion = 100%
UPG in World 7,400 = 3.2 Billion = 41%
Hell’s Population Increase — Number of Unbelievers Dying:
Unbelievers Dying Per Hour/Day/Year: 6,300/150,000/55,000,000
UnReached Dying Per Hour/Day/Year: 2,500/60,000/25,000,000
What Are We — as the Church — Doing About This Situation?
Where Are We Sending Our Foreign Missionaries?
Of the approximately 400,000 foreign missionaries: 1 out of every 31 Missionaries goes to the 41% of the world that is UnReached with the Gospel. Meaning about 30 missionaries go to areas that are already reached with the Gospel while 1 goes to the those areas UnReached with the Gospel.
Where Missionaries Are Sent Specifically
1 Missionary for every 5,000 primarily Christian areas
1 Missionary for every 180,000 primarily Hindu areas
1 Missionary for every 250,000 primarily Buddhist areas
1 Missionary for every 400,000 primarily Muslim areas
Where Are We Deploying Our Full Time Christian Workers?
We, the Church, are deploying 0.37% of all Full Time Christian Workers to have as their primary focus the 41% of the world with little to no probability of hearing the Gospel before they die.
But Wait! “If God Called Me I Would Go” — Right?
When I present people with the above information frequently I hear the response, “If God called me I would go to the Unreached. But God hasn’t called me so that’s why I haven’t gone.”
What we are saying with this response is that “It is God’s fault we are allocating Missionaries and Full Time Christian workers in this manner”.
Since Christians justify their actions by saying, “I’m doing what God is calling/asking me to do. I’m being a ‘Missionary’ where I am”.
Let us dig a little deeper into this perspective:
If everyone is obeying “God’s Calling” to be a “Missionary” wherever they are then God is calling 99.99+% of all Christians to live and work as “Missionaries” among the 59% of the World that ALREADY have access to the Gospel.
And God is “Calling” less than 0.01% of all Christians to live and work as “Missionaries” among the 41% of the world’s population that have little to no probability of hearing the Gospel before they die.
Or, could it be, that God is Calling, but Christians are refusing to listen and/or refusing to be obedient to the King?
But then again, maybe this situation really is God’s fault?
Where Are Christians Sending God’s Money They Are Managing for Him?
For this section let us use $50,000 as the average household income in the United States.
How does the average Christian household in the USA allocate God’s financial resources that God has entrusted them to manage for Him?
The average Christian Household in the USA is giving 50 Cents of their $50,000/year income to support reaching the 41% of the world that has little to no probability of hearing the Gospel before they die.
RECAP
Let’s summarize this information

Hell’s Population is Increasing Hourly on Average by 6,300 with 2,500 of those being from the Unreached.
What Are We As the Church Doing About This Situation?

YOUR CHALLENGE:
Question for you To Think About.
“Do these numbers reflect a Church devoted to fulfilling God’s Missionary Heart to Make His Name Great Among All Groups of People in the World?”
Spend some time with God and listen to what He shows you in response to this question.
